Farm grounds and Violet outdoor events
Violet has the parish's best outdoor venue in the old farm off the highway, and it draws concerts, festivals, crawfish boils and school field days through spring and fall. A Violet event order is deluxe clusters with a handwashing stand at every food setup, placed the day before and collected once the Violet grounds are clear.
Parking out at the Violet farm is on grass. We set Violet units along the shell drive or on mats, because a loaded truck on a wet Violet field becomes a recovery job.
Canal, marsh and Violet public work
The Violet Canal runs from the river back toward Lake Borgne, and the levee district and parish crews working it are out there most of the year. A Violet canal job takes a unit at the access road end on shell, never down the bank itself. Marsh edge jobs are similar. A Violet crew working the diversion or an outfall gets one unit on the firmest ground we can find and a handwashing stand beside it.
Ground, storms and the Violet calendar
Violet is low, soft and close to open water, which decides everything about placement here. A Violet unit on bare soil after rain will not be upright at the next visit, so shell, plank or mats go under every setting.
Storm season comes first in Violet from June. We strap or pull a Violet unit ahead of a named system and call the Violet contact before moving anything. Summer heat takes any Violet crew job to twice weekly service, and an event on the Violet grounds in July gets serviced the morning of the gate opening.
