Ramp and roadwork jobs in Bridge City
Bridge City work is mostly linear: a paving train on the approach ramps, a water line down Bridge City Avenue, a drainage crew cutting across a side street. A Bridge City unit on that kind of job does not stay in one spot, so we move it to the new working end at every service call.
Nobody on a Bridge City crew wants to tow a restroom around. The Bridge City foreman tells us the next block and our driver finds it, even when the street signs are already down for the work.
Utility cuts and Bridge City access
Half the Bridge City streets we serve are open trench with steel plates over them, which changes where a truck can legally stop. We set a Bridge City unit on the closed side of the cut, upstream of the plates, so the hose reaches without crossing open ground. Traffic control comes first here. Bridge City flaggers put the unit inside the taper and we work with that rather than against it.
Ground, rain and the Bridge City season
Bridge City drains slowly, and an open cut in a Bridge City street holds water after a summer afternoon until the parish pumps catch up. We keep Bridge City units on plate, shell or slab and out of the low shoulder entirely, since a Bridge City shoulder that held a unit in March will not hold one in July.
The Bridge City calendar matters as much as the ground does. Bridge City crews push hard in spring and fall, and from June through September we service a Bridge City unit twice weekly because the heat gives us no choice.
